About The Event

The FTA is proud to announce the official launch of our next competition series!! Last year we launched the #TrampChamp multi event series around the world from USA to New Zealand and everyone had so much fun we thought we should launch another series this season!

This year we bring you the first ever multi-event SuperTrampoline competition called FREESTYLE FRENZY. Athletes battle head to head in an elimination style competition with final 2 battling it out for the top prize. Most creative, sickest combos WIN!

Athletes must submit their video on Instagram with the hashtag: #GRTFreestyleFrenzy for a chance to be chosen to compete. Anyone can attend the event to spectate with a regular jump pass, or purchase an 'event ticket' for the day to be allowed to spectate and participate in a fun bounce session with the athletes. Only 16 competitors will be chosen and invited to compete based on their video submissions.

There will be qualifying events and top 4 of each qualifier gets an automatic admission the Championships at CrossJumps in The Netherlands in spring 2019.

What is the Freestyle Frenzy?

The Freestyle Frenzy Supertramp Battle Series is a multi event series with 4 different locations across Europe. Each location will be a weekend long event with lots to do. There will be a local fun meet up on the Friday night where flippers can come hangout with their friends. Then on the Saturday the Big Competition will be during the early evening and all flippers can jump together before the ompetition. On the Sunday, flippers can train together and practice with each other for the next Freestyle competition.

Athletes can attend more than one competition but only qualify for the Championships once; so if you have already won you can't win again at one of the other host qualifiers.

Format:

Each qualifier will allow up to 16 athletes to compete for a chance to win a finalist spot at the Championships in the Netherlands. Athletes must send in a video to GRT or the FTA and have their video approved before registering. Dangerous jumping will not be permitted and only athletes who are deemed to take safety seriously will be allowed to compete.

If accepted for the competition you will receive an email from GRT with documents to be signed. All areas of the document must be signed by the athlete and if under 18, the parent or guardian as well. Only athletes that are 15 and over are eligible to compete if accepted by GRT through the #GRTFreestyleFrenzy hashtag. In special circumstances, GRT and only GRT can authorize an underage competitor. All accepted athletes must register through the FTA before the competition weekend.

Rules:

The 16 chosen athletes will compete head to head in groups of 3 or 4 in a multi-round elimination event for a chance to attend the Freestyle Frenzy Championships in the Netherlands. During each round, athletes will throw their favourite combo's up to 3 skills maximum, with 1 chance to set and 2 chances to throw. Judges will score each athlete on Style/ Creativity, Control and Skill Difficulty. The 2 highest placed competitors move onto the next round, until the Semi finals, when the battle 1 x 1 for the top 4 placings. There will also be 2 WILDCARD spots awarded to athletes chosen by the judges and the competitors to qualify for the Championships.

Double Bouncing will NOT be allowed.

Judging Criteria:

1) Difficulty: Athletes will be scored out of 10.0 on the difficulty level of their skill and how well they connect together the 2 or 3 tricks in their combo. Number of rotations are included but are not the only factor. Athletes may take one set prior to attempting the skill. Each athlete also has 2 attempts at the skill. This competition is the world's largest Supertramp competition for a reason. The judges want to see a high level of skill and ability as well as the freestyle uniqueness of the sport! Twists and rotations will be marked evenly and each athlete should have both flips and twists in their combinations to score higher.

2) Creativity: Athletes will be scored out of 10.0 on how creative their combo's are, showing off unique positions, their own personal style and personality. This is what makes "Freestyle" unique to traditional and the judges want to see what makes YOU unique compared to the other competitors. If you have unique signature moves, cool fun positions and overall different combos you will get great Creativity scores.

3) Control: Athletes will be scored out of 10.0 on how well they can control their tricks and landings. In order to avoid any injuries, judges who see dangerous combos being thrown with no preparation or control in the middle of the SuperTramp will be asked to stop or score a zero factor for that lack of execution in the overall score.

These 3 criteria are given an overall score out of 10.0 to one decimal point and the judges add up the scores determining the winner of that round.

Winners: If you place top 4 overall you get an automatic admission to the Championships in Netherlands at CrossJumps Trampoline Park. Expenses will NOT be covered unless GRT or the FTA specifically notifies you based on sponsorship agreements. The top three winners of each location will receive prizes. At each location prizes are subject to change. Athletes may attend more than one qualifier but can only qualify once, so their spot will be given to the next athlete for a chance to go to the Championships.

Winners will all be accepted to Netherlands but if they are unable to go, they can transfer their ticket to another competitor who placed in the top 10 from one of the qualifiers. The Championships will also be a multi-elimination round like the qualifiers but with a cash prize of 2,500.00 Euro divided among the top 4! The CHAMPION will be awarded a cash prize of 1,500.00 Euro

Remember parents and athletes, we are here to help give these athletes a platform for their sport that goes mostly unrecognized. Each weekend event is a chance for athletes to bond and learn from each other and see the different parts of the world. Let's keep it fun and safe more then anything else.

See you there!!
